Day 69

Awwwwww yeah

Picture: You hungry?

Background: So yesterday I was with three other people doing a short gig for the Hinman building. They renovated the place and looks very nice inside. A presentation (with the president there!) was given, part of it being the choir singing with us four percussionists playing toms/triangle/tambourine. It was pretty cool, we did well, and there were lots of people to watch us. Behind us, though, sat these very highly tempting strawberries coated in chocolate. Three different trays of three different chocolates. What stinks is that I never got to eat one since I was helping pack things up. But I can just imagine their goodness by looking at this picture.

And thankfully, it's not a half-bad picture either, I think.

today's video is a pretty funny phone commercial...

Day 68

It's been awhile since I've updated before 1pm!

Picture: omnomnom?

Background: I just thought this was funny. I was walking back from class to my dorm when I saw this thing sitting there. I can't come up with a good pun for this, though. Like, I've had ideas about some, but I've been on the fence of whether I like them enough or not. The core of my humor isn't strong enough; that, or it's just not seeded in a way to flourish. My efforts have been, overall, fruitless and rotten.

Today's post has been brought to you by Puns, Puns, Puns!

today's video is a cool technological advance...

Day 67

Epic link for the day, right here.

Picture: Another flower

Background: In the little garden in the Skiles quad, there's a few nice little flowers. I was passing by and almost just passed them up, but I decided to stop for a moment and grab a couple pictures for myself. I didn't quite like how they turned out, to be perfectly honest, so I might go back there some time and take a few more. Probably a lot more, since I only really had time to take 4 pictures. I have to rush to my Tuesday lab right after English in the span of ten minutes. It gets better on Thursdays when I have to go across campus and get points docked if I'm 10 minutes late.

What saddens me is that I didn't have my camera out for the guy on a unicycle that passed me not long after. It was pretty awesome to see, though.

today's video is half an hour of funny...

Day 66

I'M SO ASHAMED! I had today's picture lined up yesterday. Yesterday. And I got caught up with dorm room happenings, hall council, and schoolwork that I completely skipped the post for today (well, yesterday, so I had the picture two days ago...whatever).

Picture: When I live by the garden and the sea

Background: Of course, me and my nature pictures always prevail. Before I began Project 365, I was taking many, many pictures of the flowers in the garden outside. I put up a lot of them on the internet to be viewed. I really like macro photos [taking pictures of things up close], and many of those pictures are flowers up close. I've actually been putting up my Project 365 photos in the same place, and I plan to put them all together some time in one big album. But that's later down the road when I finish this.

Speaking of the future when I finish this, I do have a few ideas of things to put up here. It won't be updated nearly as often, as I can't come up with material for 365 pictures, much less independent posts without pictures to blab on about. I think I've mentioned it here before, but I'm working on a story - I may post an excerpt or two, maybe, or at least a short synopsis explaining what it's about.

Last, but definitely not least, I've become an uncle again, for the 6th time! I'm heading up on Friday to go see my little niece. Can't wait!

today's video is probably the most amazing take on the pokemon series...

Day 65

Back on campus! With an early update, because I love you, my two readers.

Picture: My house

Background: See that place? I hope you do, since it's pretty obvious. I lived in that place for nearly 17 years now. Lots of memories and stuff. The yard looks pretty awesome, too. It gets to look even better as the weather gets warmer. The parents do a really great job of fixing up the yard. But now I'm away from home, back on campus, and I'm going to take pictures of campus things. Hopefully I'll have enough material to last me until after exams are done. Hopefully.

today's video is super easy...

Day 64

gogogogogo started this post at 11:42pm

Picture: Baseball (and some hockey)!

Background: I used to play Little League back before high school. I wasn't very good but I really liked to play. I got a couple trophies and things while I was there as you can see, as well as one or two gameballs. One of those (the one on the chair like thing behind the nesting doll of Chipper Jones) is the only home run I've ever hit. I was really, really happy when that happened. It really didn't even feel like a homerun...then it went over the fence. Pretty good day, I'd say.

It's storming outside. Lots of lightning, lots of weather warnings. Just came back from more hanging out. I forgot to mention this yesterday (because I was trying to post at 1:17am but missed) that I almost ran over two kids. It was dark, they were wearing dark clothes, and they weren't white, so they were honestly hard to see. I was pulling out of a turn lane at a light more worried about potential oncoming traffic; I was completely not suspecting some people could be so idiotic enough to cross that far from the crosswalk in dark clothes and not have a close call. It pissed me off - I could've gotten at least 30-40 points! Ah well.

today's video is a hilarious mash-up...

Day 63

I can explain!...Actually, I probably can't. I was just hanging out all day with a friend.

Picture: Goooo Jackets!

Background: Aww yeah. Dad actually picked this up at the car dealership near us a month or two ago. We stuck it on the front of the awesome PT Cruiser when we got home. It's a slap in the face of all the logos of that other school that are much more permeated throughout the region. That's all I have to say, otherwise I might get a war going in the comments section.

Ha. Right. Raging over the comments, here.

today's video is worth the watch...

(argh - was trying to get this post in at exactly 1:17am, but the picture uploaded more slowly than I anticipated)

Thursday, March 24, 2011

Day 62

If you didn't see last night, I put up a Facebook page. There's even a nice little button on the bottom right that shows how many people like it. You're not alone, strangely enough! I thought for sure I was going to be the only one on there for awhile.

Picture: Gamesgamesgamesgames

Background: Because of that new TV in the dorm room, I was going to force myself to get plenty of new games over Spring Break. Well, next thing I knew, I had come into possession of seven games for myself and one borrowed one. The three Pokemon games? Bringing those back with me too. I'm almost to Fuchsia in Fire Red as well. I did notice one more thing...nearly all those Xbox games have Live capabilities. So I said to myself, "Self, I should get Xbox Live to play with the crazy people I know more often." When I'm getting back to Tech, I'm probably going to be asking who all has Live, etc etc. Then prepare to lose to my glorious slaughter!

today's video is familiar to those familiar with the internet...

Facebook Page!

Yes, that's right, a Facebook page! Click me!

I've finally gotten off my tail end and made it. I was skeptical at first, since they didn't have the option for a personal blog on the Create a Page part of Facebook. It took me long enough to find the Create a Page part of Facebook in the first place! But it's launched, and you'll see me spamming it on my personal Facebook as well as putting a Like button on this page (which I'll probably promptly place on here soon). Personally I've stayed away from Twitter, so if you use that, sorry for now. I doubt I'll garner the popularity to justify anything past Facebook. I mean, I seriously, seriously doubt it.

Anywho, if you've got Facebook and actually read my ramblings, feel free to hop on the Like train. I'll be updating when I put a new post up and other 117 sightings, maybe even a few fun quips now and then. Since you read through all of this, I'll leave you with an interesting picture of me with my marshmallows from my first Humans versus Zombiez game last semester. Yes, that's one of those things that you use to carry your stuff into the shower. It came in handy when fighting off the Horde.

Day 61

Oh, forgot to mention that I saw a deer on my way home last night. It wasn't really scary since I saw it and it never jumped out in front of my car (it ran away). But still.

Picture: N64 wallet

Background: Whoa. How old can this thing be? A couple years ago I had a yard sale of a bunch of stuff laying around the house that was going to get thrown away otherwise. This was something that was thrown into the mix of bags and wallets that we had. I saw it as we put everything out and knew that I had to keep it. I mean, it's an N64 wallet! I can't resist that. The velcro is coming off of it, and that's making me sad. I intend to get the velcro re-sewn onto it so that I can keep using it. It'll be a long while before I let this thing go. It's too much awesome to let go of.

today's video is a fun physics hockey shot...

Day 60

I hit "New Post" at 1:17am. I hope that makes up for the lateness for you two readers out there.

Picture: Charlie's Angels time!

Background: Okay, so the reason I was late was because I was hangin' out all day with awesome friends. I honestly didn't get home until 1am. We were gaming, literally, all day, from when I got there at 2pm all the way until about a quarter to one when we finally finished up. There was one point where someone said, "Yeah, it's nine o'clock" and I thought, "Really?!". It did not feel that late at all, but time flew like no tomorrow. Lots of Super Smash Melee going on, and some Serious Sam as well as The House of the Dead. This is me and two others of those friends with our awesome glasses trying to play a 3D Wii game (similar to House of the Dead, but not really) and then we killed some House zombiez afterward. Lots of fun was had today/tonight.

today's video is the best videogame trailer ever...

(probable nsfw warning; blood/violence/purely depressing)

Edit: Facebook page is definitely happening. It's just a matter of being home and it not being late at night.

Day 59

Long day => Long post

Picture: A TV stand.

Background: So, three main things happened today. First, I woke up earlier than I have woken up in probably a year to go work with brother and dad. Since I'm not used to physical labor, it took its toll. Second, the shower afterward? Heavenly. It's been awhile since one has been that relaxing. Since I haven't had a sincerely private not-near-hallmates shower in awhile, I took the liberty to actually sing a few songs. The third involves this nice little TV stand you see in the picture. After that shower, I had to wait a bit for my vehicle to arrive home. Once it did, I carried in the groceries that came with it (if I tried to carry the woman driving, I might hurt one or both of us), and prepared the car to hold a nice TV and stand. Drove to the brother's house, picked up the heavy, painful-to-lift TV, and loaded it into the car. Drove down to the dorm. Called roommate, who had to call another hallmate because roommate and I couldn't pick it up together. Bring into room. Carry the less massive stand into room. Try to arrange stuff around, and decide to postpone until Saturday. Which is actually going to change. Took the stand home because it was taking up way too much room in the dorm (and roommate and I couldn't lift it onto the drawers+stand without killing someone). Grabbing some food because it had been awhile since I ate. Came home, took stand out, took a picture, and sat down and begin writing this post (among other internet-reading-gaming things).

So yes, it has been a long day for me. I feel as if I might fall asleep trying to find a video that none of you will probably watch anyway :D

today's video is actually pretty hilarious, and worth the watch...

Sunday, March 20, 2011

Day 58

Tomorrow morning will test to see if I can drag myself out of bed early. This is going to be rough.

Picture: The old white Chevy

Background: Way back, when I wasn't even born yet, my parents got this truck. Two months before I came into this world, they got this Chevy truck. They've had it longer than they've had me. But what happened today was that it has finally been sold. An older gentleman had come by and said he would probably be restoring it a bit and maybe reselling it. It's seen better days for sure, but my parents have had this truck longer than I've even been here! It's sort of sad to see if finally go, but it's nice knowing that it'll get fixed up a bit. Going to work now and then in it as a kid? Fun times! But they've got to get that red van fixed up, and if Dad drives that truck around anymore, it might just fall apart in the middle of the freeway.

I've just got this sneaking suspicion that, now that they've sold the white truck, they'll be selling me when my birthday comes around.

In other news, I'm getting that facebook page together for the heck of it. So I won't be spamming my personal facebook page with the individual posts, but instead with advertisements of the blog's facebook page. Trading one for the other. /shrug

today's video is about wasting time...

Day 57

I'm on time :|

Picture: Eat Fresh!

Background: First person I've seen since coming back home, Allan! He works at the Subway pretty dang close to my house. If the roads nearby weren't so dangerous than I could be within biking distance of it. Sounds like he's getting along pretty well for only his fifth day, so I had to go and give him a hard time. The guy he was working with also was giving him a hard time, so all is right with the world!

Today was my mother's birthday, so she got taken out to both lunch and dinner. Lucky her! Except she got older, so it balances out. And Longhorns was pretty good, too, so it was doubly balanced, if that makes sense. Other than that, mostly uneventful day. Which was nice, for a first day off.

today's video is just impossible...

Friday, March 18, 2011

Day 56

It's Friday! Weekend is here! References to Rebecca Black are being made! Huzzah!

Picture: Penguin Clock

Background: It's Spring Break! Finally! I got home around 3:30pm and I am now currently relaxing at home, doing nothing like a boss. The penguin clock I got from my parents as a late Christmas gift. Yes, seriously, a late Christmas gift. I really like penguins, too, so if you get me anything and it has a penguin on it, you get bonus points. As long as you don't spam me with gifts or say I'm obsessed. Because that'd be annoying, and I'm not obsessed. Promise.

I don't really have that many plans for Spring Break, but I might meat up with different people that I know. Come to think of it, there's a few people I should call and/or annoy just to say hello. I might have to also steal back my copy of TWEWY from a certain someone...

today's video is a quick dating tip...

(somehow I doubt people even watch these videos)

Day 55

Meh.

Picture: Another 117

Background: So imagine that you're standing behind your marimba in percussion ensemble. If you don't know what a marimba is, then google it. The music director is beginning practice, and he tells you a measure number to start at. It's measure 117. Yes, this happened to me, of course. I just sighed and began playing. We got a lot done that class, though, so all is well.

Along with this and my story, I've got yet another project on my hands: 8-bit music for a friend's video game. So far I've got a small sample of a space theme going, but it needs expansion I think. The opening it working out so far, but I know I'll probably have to do some working with the program I'm using. It's fun, though.

today's video is all about motivation...

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

Day 54

I'm on time, dangit.

Picture: -sigh-

Background: Well, SOMEBODY got a hold of my camera and decided to start taking a copious amount of pictures of me and the green room in the student center. I don't know what her problem is. I really need to shave, too. Or, at least, stop waiting to shave every three days like I have been doing. It gets really annoying when I actually do.

If you actually read this constantly (all 3-4 of you), then you may remember that story I said I was working on. That's what is sitting in front of me. I tried to get some edited done, but with hundreds of camera clicks everywhere, it's hard to concentrate. Oh, and there's also the Chick-Fil-A cup. Mr. Pibb is awesome, and I'm soda addicted. I think I've mentioned that before.

I would've updated earlier, but I was at trivia night at a local pizza place, and we won. Woo, Little Lebowski Urban Achievers! I also had to restart my computer due to the fact that I couldn't copy and paste and was forced to delete a registry file in order to fix it. I have a feeling the Windows update yesterday caused some trouble.

today's video is telling you something you ought to know...

Tuesday, March 15, 2011

Day 53

Sittin' in the Student Center. Updatin' early. Spring Break next week. No tests this week. Heck yeah.

Picture: @_@ The colors...

Background: Got to go up with the astronomy club last night. It was pretty cool - seeing the moon up closer than I have before. I loved the skyline and wanted to grab a few pictures of it before leaving for the night. Unfortunately, I don't have a tripod and there was nothing to keep the camera steady on. I thought maybe one or two of them would come out with decent focus, but it was not to be. As I looked through the ones I took, I thought this one looked pretty cool with how it had a vibrated effect to it. Like you were a little out of focus or something. Because it was vibrated, and it was out of focus, oddly enough.

One of my internet friends is supposedly within 10-20 minutes driving distance from where I'm at. It's a shame we're both busy though, because it would've been cool to finally see someone that I've talked ages to and never really got to meat.

Yes, meat. Yes, I intentionally make that typo. You should too, it yields some hilarious results.

today's video is a crazy pokemon stadium battle...

Monday, March 14, 2011

Day 52

I'm fascinated that people are interested in this. It's as if I have important things to say. Then again, I heavily suspect it's just for the pictures. Probably.

Picture: History class is fun!

Background: Gaby never stops writing on my notebook, and I never stop writing on hers. I don't even know how we started it, but I blame her because it was her. In this dandy little picture you can find a train ("chugga chugga choo choo"), a reference to that game Teeworlds that I'm hopelessly addicted to, a guy with dollar signs for eyes, the word jerk with a check mark by it (because Gaby it a jerk), a man holding a dollar sign, "PENT-UP CONSUMERS", and another mark where Gaby wrote "Gaby rulez, Wes droolz" except I marked out the D because I roolz more than she does.

There's also a joke I came up with in class: What country is going to be the first with zombies? Vietnomnomnom. Ha! Clever, right?

(not really)

today's video is a fun flash mob dance...

Sunday, March 13, 2011

Day 51

Did you enjoy the time change? I didn't.

Picture: Another white tree? Pffff

Background: Okay, this isn't the same tree as earlier. This one is outside my dorm (not the one in the background). I saw the sunshine hit it and I knew that I had my picture. Well, I thought I did since this was going to be yesterday's picture until I went to mafia night. Other than that...er...there's not much else for me to say today.

today's video is something of my own creation...(okay, and a self-plug too)...

Day 50

!@#$!@#$!@#$ I was playing some awesome games with some pretty awesome people (including one of those follower peoples), and thought I'd get back in time to update before midnight. Looks like I was wrong.

Picture: What in the

Background: While I was playing games there (Mafia, Signs, Kemps), there were people doing some sort of scavenger hunt around us. Apparently they had to build some sort of human tower and take a picture. Another thing they had to do was take a video of them asking a complete stranger for money in Spanish. It was kind of awkward, kind of funny, and kind of weird all at the same time. I was a little jealous, but I was rocking at the games I was playing that night. Mafia went great, my swing vote won the game for one of them, and we killed the mafia in two rounds the second game. We switched to Signs, a game where everybody had a little sign that they did which passed an invisible ball around. If you had the ball, you had to pass it by showing someone else's sign, and they received it by showing their own sign. Somebody would stand in the middle and try to guess who had the ball and if they were right, they would take their seat and whoever had the ball would be in the middle. It was pretty fun.

Kemps was similar, but with cards. Four cards lay in the middle, everybody had their own four cards, and sat across from their partner. If one of them got four of a kind, they would signal to the other person that they had it, and their partner would then say "Kemps". If someone from a different team saw that they had four of a kind, then they would yell "Stop Kemps" to stop them. It was a lot of fun, and my partner and I won both rounds that I played in. Awesome night.

As for now, I'm about to go do some midnight (well, 1AM) laundry. Don't forget to set your clocks forward if you've got a watch or something. If you just use your cell phone, just remember that you're waking up an hour earlier tomorrow. Loads of fun, right?

today's video is a really cool indie pop remix...

Friday, March 11, 2011

Day 49

Like most mornings, I really, really didn't want to get up. I don't know how I did it.

Picture: Crossword Clue #117

Background: I was in History class today after grabbing a school newspaper. I was flipping through it and began doing the crossword. I probably should've have since I was in the second row, but I was taking notes at the same time. I looked and saw a clue that said "Start of a quip by Abraham Lincoln: 5 wds." and thought I'd try out the method of circling all the quip clues like I know my mother does. So I circled three of them and saw the "End of the quip" clue, and circled it. Right after I did, I realized what number I had just circled. I just had to show it to my friend in that class (remember the picture of the Canon camera? Same person that held it). Good times were had by all involved. Though I'm kind of a jerk, according to her. She's probably right.

today's video is a very well coordinated prank...

Thursday, March 10, 2011

Day 48

2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 3

Picture: City of Atlanta

Background: Outside the borders of campus there's a Wells Fargo that bears a mural of different things you may see when you're in Atlanta. For starters, there's the Ramblin' Wreck, which is obviously the best part of this mural. The first GT band picture can be seen in the upper right, as well as a few other Tech related things. There's the Coca Cola logo, since it's a huge part of the city. There's a train station, in remembrance of the time when Atlanta was named Terminus due to the fact that it was where several railroads ended, giving birth to the city. And who can forget the Varsity? The designer didn't, that's for sure.

Taking the picture was a little miserable. It was windy today. Too windy. Too cold. I thought we were supposed to be in Spring soon. What happened to those shorts/short sleeved shirt days we were supposed to have? And I finished taking pictures just as the Blue bus arrived. At least I didn't have to wait out in the cold for much longer for another bus to run by.

today's video is full of amazing moments, frustrating, exciting, boring, but altogether amazing...

Edit: I forgot something! Today is Miss Ella Greer's birthday. So Happy Birthday to her!

Wednesday, March 9, 2011

And another thing...

A quick quip or two:

-I had the idea of a facebook page for this thing to let people know when I update and junk, but I don't know how useful it would be or if anybody would even join it. If I did, I'd announce new posts, maybe put up the day's video, etc. I'm sort of leaning against it right now, but I just wanted to throw that out there.

-It may still be awhile from now, but Day 117 is coming up in two months (May 8th, according to wolframalpha). I felt like I should do something special for that day since, you know, the whole 117 deal. So far I thought of making a sort of collage of all the 117s I've taken pictures of so far, and making a few more of my own. Maybe even into a gigantic 117 figure. The only problem is that exams week is just before then, so I don't know how crunched on time I'll be. Saturday can be my day to work on it, I suppose.

If you've got any input, feel free to email me/comment/facebook message. Or all three if you really want my attention.

Since you read through this post, you get a bonus song for today! I found the artist Nyctalgia last night and was very happy with what I heard. So far my favorite is Lost In Timeless Horizons, but most of his stuff has been fantastic so far.

Day 47

I did a count on my fingers earlier today to see if I was on the right day. I was.

Picture: Flower!

Background: I almost had this as yesterday's picture, but it didn't rain yesterday and I didn't feel like taking it when I passed it yesterday. Today, though, made this nice bloom look even nicer with the 2-3 inches of rain we got. Seriously, the streets had streams running through them. There were some that would probably have come up to my ankle, or higher. Some lightning too. It feels like forever since I've seen lightning or heard thunder. I also can't wait until summer so the summer storms can rage through the night. And I can actually get a little sleep here and there instead of making myself stay up until 2am for nonsense reasons.

Oh, and if you haven't heard of rainymood, then your life isn't complete yet. Add it to any relaxing music to make it much more soothing! Though, unfortunately, it doesn't have volume control. Ah well.

today's video is about railroads, minecraft, and relaxing music...

Tuesday, March 8, 2011

Day 46

Okay, not a late update. Whew.

Picture: What's up?

Background: More philosophy time, hurray!

I remember watching an episode of CSI (Las Vegas) where Catherine and Nick were investigating around a house. Catherine was telling Nick of her first days on the job, where their boss Grissom taught Catherine her first lesson: Look up. It stuck with me a little bit, and every now and then I force myself to look up for a change and see what's on the ceiling. It's funny that there can be so much that you miss by not looking up. This was taken at the Student Center (for those of you who are on campus with me, you can figure out where). So look up more! You'll never know what interesting things you may find. Just be careful outside - birds have damn good aim sometimes.

today's video inspired today's post...and is definitely worth the watch...

Monday, March 7, 2011

Day 45

2 o'clock update? And not at 2am, but 2 in the afternoon? What blasphemy!

Picture: In the middle of the road

Background: This is one of those things that you sort of just don't really think about sometimes. As in, it's just a road, right? There's nothing special about it. It's just got cracks and manholes and a street light like millions of other roads in the world. Well, let me assert that things like that make it special. There's something about standing in the middle of the road and just looking down it that makes it seem unique. You can't always look down the middle of the road for obvious reasons (I mean, you never know what kind of trash you'll be standing on or what manhole you'll be falling down. Traffic?...that too). Having nothing special about this makes it kind of cool in my eyes, since people rarely ever think how cool of an engineering feat it is to make such a network that we have. It's done on such a grand scale that it's become commonplace to just drive down these things and complain when they get worn out. I like how Louis CK puts it, "Everything's amazing, and nobody's happy".

So yeah, enjoy the things that you take for granted, is what I'm saying. That's today's lesson. I'm not a certified teacher, so I don't know how valid the lesson is, but it might be worth something.

today's video is an exploded game boy...

Sunday, March 6, 2011

Day 44

I should be working. I really should. Oh well.

Picture: The World Ends With You

Background: Okay first, for the picture, I could not get the lighting to stop bugging me until I moved the pin onto my mousepad. Then it was okay. Second, the camera was absolutely refusing to focus on the pin itself, and consistently stayed focused on the background. That was really frustrating.

Now, for what it actually is: a pin from a game. But not just any game - probably the best DS game made up to date, and probably ever. The storyline was fantastic, the gameplay was very fun, and it has replay value for me, at least. Right now my copy has been lent out to a friend (dunno how far he is into it though). But if you have a DS and haven't played this game, you need to, whether you think the whole Japanese style is awesome or dumb, because you'll enjoy it.

I've been wearing this pin around campus, and so far only two people have actually told me that they knew what it was from. Those people were in HvZ, that I stopped and talked to. So I'm not sure if many other people around campus have noticed and knew what it was from or what. Regardless of the reference, it's pretty awesome looking in my opinion. Hohoho, I'm clever, aren't I?

(not really)

today's video is some fun science...

Day 43

Fffffffff-late update because I was playing Black Ops with a guy on my hall. I had an awesome 17-7 game at the end. And the top of the page's late-update counter goes up. Great.

Picture: Coca Cola building

Background: On day 41 I took more pictures, and this was another one of them that I took, just before I got to the construction area. The building more in the foreground is what the construction is all about. But we see a huge symbol of American capitalism in front of us...Coca Cola...delicious, right? I've got my Pibb Xtra in front of me as I type this. Damn soda companies have me hooked. And the only Pizza Hut that has Coke products in the country is on our campus. Their influence is strong. You could say that their culture spread rate is...wait. I've been playing to much Sins of a Solar Empire. /shakes fist

today's video is full of pennies...and totally worth the watch...

Day 42

Me just now: "oh crap I need to update before midnight. crap crap crap what to take a picture of...AHA!"

Picture: Times are changing

Background: Yes, if I cared enough to have a smart phone, it would be in there too. Yes, that's my name on the bottom of the Xbox controller. I put it there because I didn't want it to get confused with anybody else's on the hall. Yes, I put them on the floor for the pictures, but that's because I didn't have room on my desk. So nyah. I really loved the GBA the most, partly because it has "Pokemon Center NEW YORK" on it and the other Pokemon stuff, but also because I've probably put the most gameplay hours into it. Everywhere I went, it went with me (except school). I kept it in the van so I could play to and from home. I cursed driving at night because I couldn't see the screen and didn't have one of those fancy screen lights.

I keep forgetting to mention this, but I've had a page view from China, Canada, and the UK. Cool deal! Also, someone referenced me on twitter or something, because apparently some traffic came through there about 2 weeks ago or something. I thought that was neat.

Also, I got an IM thing called Trillian. So if I know you and you've got some sort of messenger like MSN or AIM or something that you would want to bug me on, feel free to yell at me. Yeah.

today's video is a cool collaboration...

Day 41

Getting out of lab two hours early in a three hour lab? I love it.

Picture: Volvo

Background: There's lots and lots of construction going on around campus, ever since I got here. I'm also studying Civil Engineering, so it's kind of interesting to me to watch the whole process go down. As for the picture, all five I took of this look just about the same, but for some reason having the dump truck right there really appealed to me. I had some shots where it was driving off further, but I really wanted to see as much of it as I could.

Today has been full of little things that have been going well. The EAS test today sucked, and I wrote down some song lyrics for one of the questions that I had no clue what it was about. There was a bird that looked like it was going to hit me as it flew by. I heard two guys talking about math on my way to the Student Center (because you wouldn't hear that ANYWHERE else in Atlanta, which is hilariously awesome in my opinion). The little things today have made today worth living. And the day isn't even over yet, and tomorrow is Friday! What more could you want? Then again, I never really got the hang of Thursdays...

today's video is a battle most epic...

Day 40

To make up for last night's really late update, I'm putting this one up before 7pm. Aren't I sweet?

Picture: Canon!

Background: A friend of mine, Gaby, in my History 2122 class messaged me last night that she had a camera that she would show me today. It's a Canon (as you can probably tell), manual focus, film (she had some black and white film in there today), and 35 years old. I don't know about the specs other than that, and I probably wouldn't know what half the specs meant if I knew them. I do know that you have to be at least a foot away from something, so my favorite thing of doing macro pictures (really close up pictures) probably wouldn't like this camera. But I did get to hold it and look through it and whatnot. It reminded me of my mom's old film camera that I've had the desire to try out but never gave it a shot.

I almost didn't get to take a picture of this, but as we parted it was nagging me. Like, "Oh, Wes, you should take a picture of it. It's the perfect thing for today's post! Just run back there already. You've got an hour before class starts anyway!" So I did. I'm glad I did too, because I didn't have much other opportunity to snap a photo anywhere else. I could've taken one or two of cleaning the drum room up, but I was busy trying to help.

today's video is louis ck sucking a bag of dicks (very nsfw, obviously)...

Day 39

*cough* Yes, it's almost 3AM and I'm just now updating. Shush.

Picture: Me again! ಠ_ಠ

Background: Have you ever wondered what it would be like to stay up until 1AM just to do laundry? Well, I have! And I've already done it probably 4-5 times this year already. In fact, past midnight is the ONLY time I ever do laundry at all. Part of the reason is that it's a good time to get some writing done. Whenever I'm in my dorm, I always get distracted by a game or talking to peoples or schoolwork so that I never write. Whenever I'm out and about, it's for a reason, and that reason usually keeps me from writing. So midnight laundry started getting associated with writing time for me. I didn't get too much tonight, but enough for me to put in an addendum to one of my long term project stories that I'm doing. I guess you could say I'm writing a novel, but I haven't really been thinking of it like that.

Oh yeah, and explaining the picture might help too. I'm supposed to take a picture of myself now and then, and I figure once per month would be often enough to see my mug around this blog. And when I took this, I was waiting for my laundry to finish drying. There wasn't anybody else in there when I took this, either, otherwise they'd probably think I was nuts.

I'm not nuts. Promise. Though I do feel like I've skipped a day last week or something. I'll have to check when it's not THREE AM

today's video will melt you away...
