Day 362, 363

Oh jeez, so close.

First picture here was a good deal of my time at work. I got to sweep up a double-lab on the third floor. There was a lot more junk in it, but it was all pretty much moved out by today. It wasn't too bad, but rooms definitely feel larger when you have to sweep.

That second one down there? There's no "fifth" floor. I live on the top floor, which is the fourth floor. There's a ground floor that's not even mentioned. So I get to go up to the fifth floor to get into my fourth floor room. Got all that?

Honestly, I've been wrangled by Minecraft. It's an addiction worse than Teeworlds for me. Save me please.

One other thing...halfway through writing this post I got some news. It might hurt a lot of other people, but it's really not that bad. I'm single again. Thank goodness for honesty, at the least. Not sure what else to say here.

Woohoo!

Background: And it's on a lamp! With a crochet penguin underneath! This was a Christmas gift that I just got. He knows my love for penguins, and decided to grab it for me while he was home in Hong Kong. I feel like this picture would go great with the "Your argument is invalid" caption.

Today was a long day. Work, class, class, work, home, eat, girlfriend*, eat, and post. Yes, I do know how to use commas, otherwise that'd be a little strange a little halfway through there. We'll see if I can't wake up again tomorrow morning.

Background: or at least taking the time to read the back! At work we've got these chips, Zapp's chips, that are pretty good. Most of them have the same little quip on the back of them except these. This is the back of the Voodoo chips that they have. It explains how the flavor mix came to be and that they held a contest to name it. Sounds like they have a bit of fun there, which I think every company should. But what do I know?

Day 165

I'm a day late lately, I know.

Background: The reason I haven't updated is because of work and this. I cut my hand open at work on Tuesday. It was a pretty deep cut, but it was clean. From there I was moved to an urgent care place where they put in 4 stitches. I'll be okay - things couldn't have turned out better, to be honest. Plus, I've been working like crazy and I'm hardly finding time to relax, much less take pictures. I will get back on track, and the day that I'm missing is still in my mind. But my schedule for the next two weeks is jam packed. I really am not sure if I even will have time to see friends at all.

Which comes to something else - I deactivated my Facebook. Some people have asked why, and I tell them it's for "personal reasons". Well to be honest, it was feeling like nobody really cared about me. I know people do, but nobody ever showed it. There's more to it than that, but that's the gist of it (and that's all I'll say here). I'm going to get back on eventually, just gimme some time, okay?

Happy American Awareness Day

Background: I worked for my brother today (well, technically his friend). Got up the earliest I have in awhile to be down at their kitchen - they do catering. I even got to do dishes! Twice! But it wasn't that bad. I've been doing dishes for years, so I suppose I'm not an amateur or anything, and I'm used to doing them at work all the time already. So yeah, nothing much else happened today. I just about took a nap when I got home, but dinner rectified that.

Yeah, I could mention something about it being American Independence Day. But honestly, this country isn't perfect, and never will be, no matter who's in office. But hey, we're here and we're doing fine, right?

Background: It feels like I haven't had much time lately. I've been working a lot, and somehow managing to still keep this blog up. So please excuse this little delay in posts from these last couple days. I'm supposed to be working even more over the next few weeks, especially the week of the 10th. Yeah, yeah, for all the adults in the world, it's not a 40 hour work week or anything. Still, it's hard finding anything interesting to take pictures of when you're constantly either in the car driving to work or at work. Just bear with me, pweeze?

Background: I swear if I get the search keywords "orange stool" as something that was used to find my blog, I'm going to shake my head in disgust. Today my mother went to get me before I jetted off to work for a second time. She wanted to show me this neat little thing. I like taking pictures of toadstools, so I stayed out there as long as I dared so that I would be late for work. I made it on time, thankfully, and got to go through a stressed day of work. I'm about to fall asleep sitting here typing this up.

Day 159

Tiringly good day

Background: I came up with this idea after the boss sent out an email. She had other stuff in the email of course, but part of it was asking where all our pens were. So I took a cup, cut off the top, and used the magnet to hold it up. Pens go inside, and they stay there unless being used.

Got less sleep than I'm used to. But I got some good tips today, and I got paid. Then I went home, took a shower, and headed off to an Irish Pub. Where I won a $40 gift certificate. So yes, it's been a good day, but I'm a bit tired. What's better, though, is that I'm spending tomorrow with friends. It's gonna be pretty awesome. Then workworkworkworkworkworkwork. But that means money. So I don't mind at all. I'm definitely thankful to have a job; that's for sure.

Lots of last minute updates lately, it seems.

Background: Two of the girls at work had very little to do, and this was the end result. Except one of them added a small thing to it a little after I took the picture, but whatever. "Be the light" is actually the tattoo that one of them has, and that made a little "Aww" moment between them, from what I was told. Apparently "Talk doesn't cook rice" is a Chinese proverb, too. Which is funny, because we use lots of rice at work. Okay, I thought it was funny. Don't look at me like that.

Day 142

Hurrah!

Background: See that wood? If I took this picture a few weeks ago, that would've been rotten, 17 year old wood. But Dad replaced it all! Now there aren't any stairs going from the deck to the ground below. He's got a ladder! I got to haul it all off to a part of the woods where we'll be having a nice burning someday. And these tomatoes are so cute, aren't they? There's even the little green things growing in there that I'm not entirely sure what they are - if they're more tomatoes or something different. Irregardless, it's nice to just sit on the edge of the porch drinking a 1-1/2 liter Dr. Pepper like I did the other day.

I really don't know what happened yesterday.

Background: I literally looked up at the clock and it was 2am. There was no way I was going to be able to get a picture of anything remotely interesting. I was also late for work yesterday, too, so that made me mad at myself. But that's in the past now! I wasn't late today, so that's good news. Other than that, all that happened yesterday was conquering an entire solar system. Pretty good stuff.

So many nature pictures taken today!

Background: Lily? I think that's what my mom said they were. We've got probably 10 of them growing around a little part of the garden. I worked outside with the 'rents today for a bit, hauling stuff around in our Rhino. It's a four wheeled joyride every time I jump in, even if it's for work. We've got a trail behind our house that Dad and Brother carved out last summer. It probably could be blazed again this summer sometime. I might put that on my to-do list...

Whew.

Background: No, a crawdad! I started work again today, and that's part of our uniform, along with a nifty shirt design that looks eerily similar. Then again, maybe not "eerily" similar, but it's got the same design concept. And I managed to sneak in a piece of my GT hat, too, on "accident". My back is killing me right now, but that's probably because I need a new mattress. Work didn't help, but I'm not complaining because hey - I'm working. I won't complain about that for sure.

Day 102

Background: I have been sitting here all day. No, really. I've obviously ventured outside my dorm room once or twice (food, restroom), but honestly, I haven't had to go anywhere. And the rain gave me the perfect excuse not to go outside! So there hasn't been really any picture taking opportunities today. I considered another lame picture of myself, but I thought it might be worth it to take a picture of my entire desk. I mean, I'm moving out in about four days! You can see my clock, phone, towel (just barely), some papers, my lamp, and of course, all my sticky notes. My laptop was playing this song at the time. They're not really reminders for anything - most of them are silly in one way or another. I've got three more on the wall to me left and two on the TV on my right. Those five are semi-serious. So yeah, that's my workspace. Come to think of it, I should've take it with 11:17pm on my clock, but I just realized it at 11:18 as of me typing this up.

Two other interesting things: For one, I'm actually going to start proofreading these posts. I used to not, until yesterday. I'm sure it was obvious sometimes. For two, the keywords "hope there won't be too much pandalism today!" somehow got linked to my blog. Funsauce.

fgfds...late, but just barely

Background: ...and my snazzy new haircut! Seriously, I've needed one for a few weeks. I haven't had time to get one for the past four or five days, though, so I finally got one after lab today. The lady was really nice. It was funny, I was actually in need of shampoo and didn't even think about getting some until I went there. Good timing on my part, I suppose.

I've had a lot on my mind, and a lot to do. English project was most of it, a history paper last Friday, and a test early Thursday morning. Thinking back, that felt like years ago, that Thursday morning test. But now I have something that resembles free time again! I might actually get some sleep tonight. Maybe.

I'm on time :|

Background: First person I've seen since coming back home, Allan! He works at the Subway pretty dang close to my house. If the roads nearby weren't so dangerous than I could be within biking distance of it. Sounds like he's getting along pretty well for only his fifth day, so I had to go and give him a hard time. The guy he was working with also was giving him a hard time, so all is right with the world!

Today was my mother's birthday, so she got taken out to both lunch and dinner. Lucky her! Except she got older, so it balances out. And Longhorns was pretty good, too, so it was doubly balanced, if that makes sense. Other than that, mostly uneventful day. Which was nice, for a first day off.
