Day 354

Woohoo!

Picture: Penguin!

Background: And it's on a lamp! With a crochet penguin underneath! This was a Christmas gift that I just got. He knows my love for penguins, and decided to grab it for me while he was home in Hong Kong. I feel like this picture would go great with the "Your argument is invalid" caption.

Today was a long day. Work, class, class, work, home, eat, girlfriend*, eat, and post. Yes, I do know how to use commas, otherwise that'd be a little strange a little halfway through there. We'll see if I can't wake up again tomorrow morning.

With that, I guess I'll leave you with a song that I've been pretty much adoring today.

*yay!

Day 333, 334, 335, 336

Ho ho ho!

Judgmental Penguin is watching you from above. Be careful, for he is more watchful than Santa Claus. He also only knows when you've been naughty; he couldn't care if you've been nice. Thus is the life of Judgmental Penguin.

But hey, Christmas is on the way. The 'rents decorated the house today, and we have the (fake) tree put up now, as you can see. I got to pull it up from the basement, and Mom basically put it up. It's been in the family for years. The leaves have metal tips that get put into the center shaft. Completely safe. It has to be at least 10-20 years old by now, I'm sure. We've also got the manger set at the bottom, which has also been around for awhile. Not much else to say, other than that I think this picture turned out nice compared to the originals.

Why haven't I been updating? Simple - I've been at work and taking no pictures! The Christmas ones were taken today, and Judgmental Penguin had his picture taken Tuesday.

Working short shifts on Wednesday and Thursday was fun and relaxed. I get to drive around the golf cart for deliveries. The thing is a speed demon! A whole five miles per hour! It's crazy!

So, these are the stockings for my immediate family. They're hanging up over the parents' fireplace now. The ones on the ends are my parents' stockings. They figure that, since we get these nice sized socks that they get the big socks for presents.

Also, all the brick and stone is actually stucco. I used to think that it was brick and stone until I figured it out when I was about 10 or 11 (I've lived here since I was 2). Dad does fake brick and things like that. It's pretty convincing.

Lastly, these things. Oh God these things. Five of the six grandkids are getting these things. They spin and make giggling noises that would easily drive parents insane. I'm kind of glad that I only have to deal with these tomorrow, though. Poor parents have to deal with them even more.

If you're wondering, the fifth one is a giraffe. And if my body is found in my room on Christmas, then this picture will be my suicide note. I can take some annoyance and I regard myself as a patient person, but these things are bad. Just plain bad. Hopefully I'll survive.

That's all the pictures for now. Maybe I'll actually have an on-time post tomorrow. Then pigs will fly and Christmas will have freezing temperatures this year.

Day 265

I'm not normally a sucker for cute things...

Picture: Adorable Penguin

Background:...but this has GOT to be the cutest penguin in existence. It gets better when you push his nose in and his eyes come closer and he looks sad and OH MY GOD so cute! His name is Avalanche, and he was given to me by my damn good RAT for Vet Appreciation Day yesterday. Since I had already updated yesterday, I decided to wait to give you this adorable little thing.

Events for the day include a Photo Club free portrait setup which I was able to get only a few pictures with one person, one class which ended early, receiving homework in which I got .5 away from an A (except, because of the overall low grades, the grades are being shifted "to the right"), and playing games in the Student Center for a few hours. So it was a success, I'd say.

The cutest distraction I'll ever find.

Day 135

I'm going to run out of interesting things in my room pretty soon.

Picture: Round penguin!

Background: I'm not obsessed. Stop looking at me like that. I do love penguins, though. I got this last Christmas from Santa. In it I put coins and paper clips and little things that don't really have a place or would get lost just sitting on my small desk. It's pretty useful, and I like getting useful things as gifts. So keep that in mind if you plan on giving me something. But please don't give me stuff. It makes me feel like I have to give something back eventually, and I'm a cheapskate (and I'm horrible at giving gifts).

today's video is about rice and physics...

Day 74

As promised on Facebook, a late update!

Picture: Penguin! With a RAT cap!

Background: The RAT cap is a(nother) Tech tradition that the band keeps alive. You write "RAT", your name, your hometown, your (expected) graduation date, and your declared major. If those change, I'm pretty sure you can change those on the hat itself.

Underneath that yellow cap sits a big penguin. It's like 2 feet tall, and fluffy as hell. Because of a few talks with my roommate, and questionable uses of said penguin, it has been dubbed "Judgmental Penguin". I also plan on stuffing him into my bag and walking around campus with him facing people behind me as I walk. Creepy, no? Yes. Exactly. YES.

today's video is a mass of incandescent gas...

Day 56

It's Friday! Weekend is here! References to Rebecca Black are being made! Huzzah!

Picture: Penguin Clock

Background: It's Spring Break! Finally! I got home around 3:30pm and I am now currently relaxing at home, doing nothing like a boss. The penguin clock I got from my parents as a late Christmas gift. Yes, seriously, a late Christmas gift. I really like penguins, too, so if you get me anything and it has a penguin on it, you get bonus points. As long as you don't spam me with gifts or say I'm obsessed. Because that'd be annoying, and I'm not obsessed. Promise.

I don't really have that many plans for Spring Break, but I might meat up with different people that I know. Come to think of it, there's a few people I should call and/or annoy just to say hello. I might have to also steal back my copy of TWEWY from a certain someone...

today's video is a quick dating tip...

(somehow I doubt people even watch these videos)

Day 20

20 days in! Woo! Late update because I was busy with schoolwork due at midnight and I've been so preoccupied today with school stuff that I barely had time to think about a photo.

Picture: Penguins!

Background: My roommate, my ex, my first public school friend, and a large internet community can all attest to the fact that they are my favorite bird. They think I'm obsessed, but I don't think so. I mean, I kept myself from taking a picture of these penguins on a poster in the hallway until I absolutely had no other picture ideas, right? That has to count for something. The poster itself is for the university's night at the aquarium, but I've already been 2-3 times and don't really care for another go.

Another thing, I'm already feeling like I'm running out of the variety of videos I've got. I get links from everywhere (Facebook, IRC, forums, etc) but I usually forget about them. So if you've got some good videos that I should post up here, shoot me an email/comment/FB message/PM elsewhere or something. I think you're able to access my email address from the blog, but I dunno. Luckily, I was linked to something worth watching a few hours ago...

today's video is the best a fake translation can get...
