Day 365

Well here we are: The Final Day. I've waited a whole year for this. A whole stinkin' year!

I'm not going to get very mush today. If things go right, I never will! Tomorrow will be the big wrap up post from me, so expect one more last update.

As for today, it was not too bad. Shopping and breakfast with Mom, where I got a new laptop battery. It's lasting a lot longer than my other 2-year-old one, so hopefully I won't kill it like I did my first one.

Birthday party for my nieces afterward, where we played this cool game where we have a phrase, write it, draw it, then pass it to the next person as if it's a game of telephone. They see the picture but not the phrase. It turned out pretty funny (and would be hilarious with some more inebriated people *cough*).

That's all I have for today. Like I said, expect a wrap-up post tomorrow. Have a good night!

Day 361

Dammit it's still 1/17 in my heart!

I want to wish a happy birthday to Ms. Betty White and Ms. Michelle Obama! I would look up more births and deaths, but Wikipedia is blacked out right now (for a good cause). I'm sure there's a way to get the info, but whatever.

Other than that, I hope your January 17th was as wonderful as mine. I at least know mine ended pretty well. I mostly forget the rest of the day as usual.

There's really nothing else I have to say about today. Everything I could've said, I already have.

With that, I'll give you a blast-in-your-ears song to listen to. I'm sure I've linked it here before, but it's my favorite song, so give me a break. Please?

...fine...

Day 312

I have made a discovery!

Picture: Whatchu lookin' at?

Background: And that discover is that I cannot look badass with glasses on. I barely do without them on. This is a somewhat personal little thing: I always thought that cargo pants make kids like me look twice as badass as normal. I don't know why, but now that I actually have two pair, I'll be wearing them and feeling a bit more awesome. The fingerless Apocalypitca gloves kind of help, too. Now that it's actually getting cold, I finally have an excuse to wear all this stuff I've got. Maybe I might get contacts in the long run, but I don't really want to bother with them at this point in life.

Say what you want, I don't care! It's who I am.

To pretty much everyone,

If you want to hang out with me, then give me something to do. If you invite me to a party, have something there to do (that isn't Guitar Hero). Ask me to grab lunch. Talk about coming over and beating up bad guys with you. But don't ask me to just "hang out" because I'm terrible at it. I have to be doing something, I have to be engaged. I never make excuses that aren't true unless I'm being asked to just hang out.

And watching movies or TV doesn't count, because that's not engaging at all. Sitting in front of a box of colorful, moving pictures doesn't interest me in the slightest unless I'm the one moving the pictures.

Wes

Day 298

I want to write this one quick so I can get some sleep

Picture: Worship the headphone jack!

Background: My most fun "photoshoots" are of me at 1am. This one was pretty simple: my room light, my desk lamp, a box and a binder. My camera sat on top of the box and binder, that is. I was just screwing around because I knew I needed a picture for today. Then this came out - I might use it for my Photography Club submission for "Madness". Because what is madness, but a lack of music?

(that's pretty deep, isn't it?)

Speaking of which, I don't understand why I stopped listening to Pandora. I jumped back on it the other day and, with rainymood going, turned on an instrumental/post-rock channel. There's some good ambient music that I've gotten the chance to leak into my ears.

That's all, folks.

It got rather silly.

269-272

Oh jeez.

Well, for the record, Monday and Tuesday were mostly uneventful. As was Wednesday. Except, it was cold on Wednesday. I hate the cold. And it was cold today, Thursday. But I get to wear my Apocalyptica gloves now! So all is not lost, yet I still hate the cold. Praying for a quick end to fall/winter/the early, cold part of spring already.

So, since Blogger messes up whenever I try several pictures next to each other, I'm going to go ahead and describe them to you. First was taken on Wednesday. The Pit has a thing about pineapples, and I think Erin may have missed Vet Appreciation Day. So instead, Erin went ahead and got her Vet this awesome cape. SuperVet, to the rescue!

Next, it's me again! I had to take a picture for my sister. My mother, sister, and I are all auditioning for Wheel of Fortune. Why? Well, why not? I've been watching it for ages, and I even called out a letter during a show when I was only a 1.5 years old. It'd be cool to appear on it!

Then, I present to you, PAPER! That's my two stories right there, a combined 61 pages of paper. I did some hardcore editing today (if you can call it "hardcore") in the Student Center. It was nice to sit down and just read/edit for once.

Finally, the healthiest my fridge has ever been. Dean's French Onion Dip, Dr. Pepper, and orange juice. I had to grab some things from Publix yesterday after band, and while I was there I decided to grab the orange juice. I keep finding myself lacking in something to drink with my ramen at night, and this works out better than Dr. Pepper.

So there you have it! Four pictures, four days.

today's video is awesome physics...

Day 194

Ha! Late, but I didn't forget! Yeah, it's almost 3am. So sue me.

(please don't)

Picture: Wesley Wormhole..?

Background: I don't know where we got them, but somehow my family got a hold of these "Garbage Pail Kids" cards. I don't even know what they're useful for other than being a little gross. Trust me, this is one of the lesser ones there were. Plus, it's got my name on it! Get it? Wormhole? Worm protruding from a hole? Yeah.

So this was the one I kept. Unfortunately I'm not blond (anymore) and I don't play with jack-in-the-boxes. Nor do I have a worm sprouting out of my stomach. That would be bad. I really want to find a permanent home for this as a sticker, but ideas aren't really coming since I'm moving a whole bunch of things out of my room.

today's video is an impressive light show...

Day 192, 193

Blargh! I really think I might just be doing a whole "post every other day" deal or something. I've actually been doing stuff lately! Mostly cleaning out my room. Which is what half of this post is about.

Picture: ROOM!

Background: I got the wall unit out of this room! It took a bit of convincing to move it to a different room, but it's all good...I hope. The TV got pushed up against the wall, sort of. It's still at an angle so I can watch it while trying to get some sleep. I desperately need to vacuum, but I think I'll do that after everything is done with. I still have that desk - I'm not sure if I want to move it out or just keep it in my room. It would be easiest to keep it in my room for now, so that'll probably end up being what I do. Fortunately you can't see the huge mess that's blocking the way to my bed. It includes weird things like shoes, my hamper, unmade marimba mallets, a paintbrush-notepad, and over $20 in rolled coins. It's amazing what you may find when you don't clean out your room for most of your life.

The other picture is something that you don't see every day - myself without glasses. I feel awkward taking pictures of myself because I don't want to turn into "that person" that takes those dumb mirror pictures or with the camera at arm's length away. That's right, I'mma callin' you OUT! Either way, it's me. Woo hoo. I've had glasses since 2nd grade. Wednesday, March 31, 1999 to be exact. Don't ask my why I remember the exact date, or the fact that I was late for school and arrived in the middle of music class. I've tried contacts, yeah, but I don't like poking my eye with my finger. It freaks me out a bit. I don't know if it was the camera flash, but I remember my eyes being more blue than that...

today's video is about art...

Day 154

Late? Not if I was in California. So nya.

Picture: Meeeeee!

Background: It's that piece of paper again. It's following me around! Why is it doing that. Why. I don't know. But it jumped in my car and stayed with me all day today for something like three hours. It's kind of annoying, but in a loving way. Why do I even have these pictures of this piece of paper? Again, my two and a half readers, in due time. I promise that it will be explained before Monday, but you will have to actually click the day's video of whatever day I finish with what I'm working on.

Day 123

I'm being proactive? Over summer break? Nonsense!

Picture: It's me again

Background: Last night I was getting a bit experimental with my photos for once. The originals look nothing like the edits - this being an edited version of one of the ninety or hundred pictures I took. I really don't know what inspired this, but as soon as I took one or two, I kept going. Most of them make me look like an angsty, depressed, emo teenager, but that was sort of what I was going for anyway (I'm none of those, by the way). Something different, for a change. And now that I finally realized how cropping/contrast/adjusting pictures can make them look so much better, I think I'll stick with maybe messing with pictures now and again. It was pretty fun (especially at 3am). The full gallery can be found here if you're interested.

I'm probably going to be home past midnight, so I was going to update now since I won't get back for awhile. About time I didn't have an 11pm update! It's been awhile.

today's video is about falling down...

Day 105

Ha!

Picture: Flower (again?!)

Background: After I took the picture of the shaft yesterday, I was hanging around the Student Center and got to see these little beauties staring up at me. So I got a few good pictures of them smiling at me! Like usual, I have no idea what the names of these flowers are, but I like them anyway.

I've been busy packing that I almost forgot about this for today. I'm finally leaving this wretched yet awesome school for the summer. My final presentation in my class this morning went well (we were the best ones to present - and we only know that because one of the group members was sitting right next to the professor, looking at the grades...hehe). I'm just glad that it's all over, and that I was able to stave off any naps this year until yesterday and today. Now, I go back home for the summer....after I finish packing.

today's video is my hvz speech this semester (you only need to see the first minute or so from when linked)...

Day 103

Success!

Picture: Me, a fedora, and a guy with a tuba.

Background: Okay, this might take some explaining. Firstly, there were a whole bunch of students who just happened to be at the nearby dinging hall that began singing a song about a certain school they dislike, as well as playing a few songs on their instruments. I just happened to catch wind of this event somehow and showed up to sing and dance along. It was great fun. The reason I got a fedora was because the bass drum player asked me to hold it for him (and I wore it instead). We went from the dining hall to the local quad to the quad in the nearby North Avenue apartments. After they played some songs there, I wanted to get a picture with the fedora. Well, this tuba player happened to suddenly want to pose with me as he passed by. So we posed. It was pretty awesome. And now, I must study for this 8am exam tomorrow that is going to shaft me, and hard....

today's video has relevant to the phrase, may the fourth be with you...

Day 88

fgfds...late, but just barely

Picture: Me...

Background: ...and my snazzy new haircut! Seriously, I've needed one for a few weeks. I haven't had time to get one for the past four or five days, though, so I finally got one after lab today. The lady was really nice. It was funny, I was actually in need of shampoo and didn't even think about getting some until I went there. Good timing on my part, I suppose.

I've had a lot on my mind, and a lot to do. English project was most of it, a history paper last Friday, and a test early Thursday morning. Thinking back, that felt like years ago, that Thursday morning test. But now I have something that resembles free time again! I might actually get some sleep tonight. Maybe.

today's video is just...whoa....whoa...whoa....

Day 81

Sitting in the Student Center, doin' a 5pm update. Sweet.

Picture: Big ball!

Background: I was on my way to English today when I noticed that there was this giant ball in one of the quads. As I walked by, one of them asked me to sign it - apparently every signature gives a few cents to their cause (helping children who are in need). So I did, and as I walked away, I thought, "Man, I'd want a picture by this thing." So I hurried back and asked to take a picture of it. Well instead, the guy asked if I wanted to be in it, so I said, Sure! And thus, the picture! The picture I had yesterday that was going to originally be today's actually got submitted to Only At Tech instead. If it gets on, then sweet! If not, oh well.

today's video is all about using your voice...

Day 54

I'm on time, dangit.

Picture: -sigh-

Background: Well, SOMEBODY got a hold of my camera and decided to start taking a copious amount of pictures of me and the green room in the student center. I don't know what her problem is. I really need to shave, too. Or, at least, stop waiting to shave every three days like I have been doing. It gets really annoying when I actually do.

If you actually read this constantly (all 3-4 of you), then you may remember that story I said I was working on. That's what is sitting in front of me. I tried to get some edited done, but with hundreds of camera clicks everywhere, it's hard to concentrate. Oh, and there's also the Chick-Fil-A cup. Mr. Pibb is awesome, and I'm soda addicted. I think I've mentioned that before.

I would've updated earlier, but I was at trivia night at a local pizza place, and we won. Woo, Little Lebowski Urban Achievers! I also had to restart my computer due to the fact that I couldn't copy and paste and was forced to delete a registry file in order to fix it. I have a feeling the Windows update yesterday caused some trouble.

today's video is telling you something you ought to know...

Day 39

*cough* Yes, it's almost 3AM and I'm just now updating. Shush.

Picture: Me again! ಠ_ಠ

Background: Have you ever wondered what it would be like to stay up until 1AM just to do laundry? Well, I have! And I've already done it probably 4-5 times this year already. In fact, past midnight is the ONLY time I ever do laundry at all. Part of the reason is that it's a good time to get some writing done. Whenever I'm in my dorm, I always get distracted by a game or talking to peoples or schoolwork so that I never write. Whenever I'm out and about, it's for a reason, and that reason usually keeps me from writing. So midnight laundry started getting associated with writing time for me. I didn't get too much tonight, but enough for me to put in an addendum to one of my long term project stories that I'm doing. I guess you could say I'm writing a novel, but I haven't really been thinking of it like that.

Oh yeah, and explaining the picture might help too. I'm supposed to take a picture of myself now and then, and I figure once per month would be often enough to see my mug around this blog. And when I took this, I was waiting for my laundry to finish drying. There wasn't anybody else in there when I took this, either, otherwise they'd probably think I was nuts.

I'm not nuts. Promise. Though I do feel like I've skipped a day last week or something. I'll have to check when it's not THREE AM

today's video will melt you away...

Day 6

Whew! Getting the update in last minute. I had Trivia Night with a Mr. Tyler and his friends (Vermont, Billy Joel, and Lost were some of my awesomely right answers). I ate 19 1/2 wings tonight too, so I'm a bit full.

Picture: Me in my dorm room hole.

Background: The guy who did the first Project 365 suggests to take a picture of yourself every so often so you can see how you change and stuff. So it's me! I've got my own little mancave over here. Yes, that's the laptop I update everything on. That's also my Humans versus Zombies bandanna. And I actually ripped off that sticky note because looking at this picture reminded me that I already did what it was demanding me to do. That is also a piano. It stinks, but it's all I've got.

I've actually got some Philip Wesley music coming for me in the mail soon. It's even autographed by the pianist! I'm pretty excited to learn it all (especially since I've got loads of time to play before Percussion Ensemble). I kinda suck at piano but it's still a lot of fun. I also play a lot of video game music, including some on the marimba...
