Background: This book is creepy as hell. It's not knock down drag out scary, but it's not a walk in the park either. I was at the Mall of Georgia last week with the family, and I saw this at the Barnes and Noble there while my mother and aunt were talking over ice cream or something. It caught my eye, to say the least. When I turned it around to read the back, I was instructed that I should not have touched it with my bare hands, but it was too late. They're watching. But seriously, if you want to be just creeped out, grab this book. I still haven't finished it, but my guess is that John dies at the end. Some weird stuff happens in it, not least of all eyes blowing up and the ability to count all subatomic particles in the universe. Weeeeeiiiiird stuff. Don't read this before going to sleep.

But for now, I'm off to work.

Background: Aunt + Her Husband + their two boys were in Georgia this weekend, so lunch was had with the whole family. I didn't really get a good picture of anybody, but here's one. The guy turned around is my uncle, and those are my cousins. My Uncle kind of looks like the band director at Tech with that shirt on, except taller. Because, you know, everybody's taller than...

Anyway, lots of driving too. I also got a new book that I'll have to blab to you all about, since the author is supposedly a mix of Douglas Adams and Stephen King. So it sounds good already.

Day 110

Background: I got this book back from my sister-in-law. She had been bugging me to lend it to her, and now she returned it. I had just finished reading the sixth one (this is the seventh) in my rereading of the series. I picked it up at sometime around 2pm, maybe a little later. And I read. All day. Until nearly two in the morning. I wanted to finish it, okay? At least I took a break to write the day's post! I didn't take a break from conquering an entire solar system to write this; I finished my conquest first. Their ships needed to explode, it's not my fault!

Day 84

Whee!

Background: Man, there is NOBODY in the library right now. I'm waiting on my English 1101 group to get here to work on the Children's book that we're making. I sort of wanted to get here early so I could post this and maybe do some writing before they got here. This picture, though, was from a book I spent 5-6 hours reading over the course of last night and this morning. I had to write a 700-800 word essay summarizing and reviewing it. It's called Georgia Odyssey (by James Cobb) and I enjoyed it, oddly enough. It details the history of Georgia and peoples' personal experiences throughout its history. I was probably more interested in it because I've been born and raised in Georgia, but I wouldn't be surprised if it bored the socks off of people who aren't from here. So here's page 117, of course. I've still got to start thinking of how I'm going to put a collage of pictures for Day 117 when I get there, so we'll see how that works out.
